About Me Now

A lot of things have changed since I wrote my first about me page. So I have decided to compose a new one. I have however, decided to leave the original about me page on my blog and you can find it on the drop down section. Its labeled  ‘About Me 2011‘.

As I said, a lot of things have changed since I started this blog last year. But some things have stayed the same. So I will start with those. My name is still Keelan Foley and I have no plans to change this any time soon. Also, I still study Interactive Multimedia  at the Institute of Technology Tralee. As for my age, I am now 20. A year older and hopefully a year wiser.

When I initially wrote the about me page, my blog had only a handful of posts and even fewer page views. I think I referred to my blog as ‘neglected’. Hopefully you will see that this is no longer the case. As well as my own blog I also write for the following online publications.

And now a bit about the blog. The main theme of this blog is music. As well as the odd album review, you will find a large variety of song recommendations and features posted here. My patented* world famous** ‘A Song For The Weekend’ segment provides the perfect tunes to set the tone for whatever you may have planned for the weekend ahead. So basically think of my blog as a soundtrack. A place to go to when you want to hear something new or that song you haven’t heard in a while. I don’t really bother with music news and gossip on my blog, sure you can find that on any music website. But its not all music here. I also write about film, the arts and whatever else pops into my head.

My main goal in life is to become  an established writer, be it a novelist, journalist, or critic. This has not changed since I wrote my first about me page, nor will it ever change. So if you would like to follow me as I strive to separate the free from freelance then be sure to click the  ‘Subscribe’ button.

*Patent pending

** It’s not really world famous, I just like to think it is.

  10. Very cool, Keelan. I have several authors whose books I review that are religious in attaching a soundtrack for their novels and have written a blog about music as a key to characterization. I look forward to more music and thoughts from you.

Thanks for stopping by and for the like :-}.

Have to say you might be the first Irish blogger I’ve come across [as surprising as that sounds!], though we’re not that far away from each other :-]. Hello from England!

A couple of my close friends are Irish–one’s now a stockmarket multimillionaire living on the West Coast of the USA, another is a mathematics professor in that country (when he was at Trinity College they didn’t believe he was student there because he looked a bit rough, but he ended up topping the maths degree there!).

  48. Just realized you’re from Ireland, my brain is forever set to ignore minutia. Unfortunately my one billionaire professor said, “A piece of minutia might save your life someday.” He’s probably right especially if it involves some legal dispute and some small document helps prove in my favor. Any way I have lots of friends from Ireland because they come over during the summers to work at the beach. If you ever want to email some writing back and forth let me know. I love the way the Irish write, its dam near another language to me. It’s much more poetic, raw, and sing-songy for some reason. Maybe that’s not at all but at least with my friend John and his group it is.

  52. I am just reading about: About Me (2012).

You have one thing wrong already. You do not get wiser just because you are a year older. You get sillier-poorer-uglier.

The bright side is you just may become a better writer.

But I have more bad news for you. I received a ‘like’ on my page My Secret Blog. And you want to be a music critic? Did you actually listen to my song? Did you listen twice? Sorry, you can’t take the ‘like’ back. 🙂

I am going to follow you. I will put you on probation of course. But you do show promise.

To know what you want and how to go about getting it by the age of 20………..awesome!

    1. I honestly never realised that was a song till you mentioned. I thought it was a poem you wrote. I only spotted the link now. But I am apprehensive to click after your comment.. Probation..That sounds interesting. What exactly does it entail on my part?

      1. Probation means you have to follow my blog. LOL

Plus you have to write a review of the song etc etc etc etc. This will give you practice ………on saying NICE STUFF.
