Top 10 Tracks of the Year – Digging Holes

In this stellar year for Irish music its only right that the number seven slot be filled by the up and coming Dublin indie-poppers, Raglans.

Raglans – Digging Holes

Digging Holes is taken from the band’s debut EP, Long Live. The track itself is fun, energetic and a true sign of things to come. With a new album in the works it will be interesting to see what 2013 holds for the Raglads.

Top 10 Tracks of the Year – Breezeblocks

And so this humble list reaches number eight. To be fair no top list of 2012 songs would be complete without at least one song from the British Alternative Indie band, Alt J.

Alt J – Breezeblocks

Seeing as it’s Christmas Day I’ll keep this post short. Happy Listening and of course Happy Christmas.

Stay Tuned for number seven.

Top 10 Tracks of the Year – History Book

So naturally I decided to continue this top 10 with number 9.

9. Dry The River – History Book

Dry The River are an English folk band who formed back in 2009. They have released three albums to date and have done well to establish a unique and incomparable sound.  History Book is taken from their ‘Shallow Bed’ album which was released earlier this year. It does well to showcase the bands incredibly balanced vocal and musical ability.

Stay tuned for number 8.

Top 10 Tracks of the Year – The John Wayne

Keeping inline with the tradition of all music websites publishing ‘Top Lists’ around this time of year,  I have decided to  release my very own. As you can probably tell from the title I have decided to publish my top 10 tracks of the year. So lets kick this highly original idea off with number 10.

10. The John Wayne – Little Green Cars

Since the release of their debut single, Little Green Cars have experienced an unprecedented surge in popularity. The Dublin five piece band consisting of Stevie Appleby (vocal & guitar), Adam O’Regan (vocal & guitar), Donagh Seaver O’Leary (bass guitar), Dylan Lynch (drums) and Faye O’Rourke (vocal & guitar) formed almost three years ago and have been playing and recording ever since. They have had a phenomenal year at home with major festival appearances and an abundance of coverage. With a 2013 album in the works and a growing fan base in the states and overseas it may not be much longer till ‘Little Green Cars’ becomes a household name.

Stay tuned for song number 9
