I had planned to finish this top 10 with at least a couple days spare before the year ended. But sure what can you do? So pressing on, in a timely fashion, here is the number three song in my tracks of 2012 list.
Villagers – Nothing Arrived
Villagers are an Irish band fronted by Conor O’Brien. They have performed at several music festivals and toured with the likes of Tracy Chapman, Bell X1 and Elbow. Nothing Arrived was released only last month ahead of their 2013 album, Awayland. It’s a great track and does well to showcase the intricate vocal prowess of O’Brien. Have a listen and see for yourself. (not sure if that makes much sense, but hopefully you know what I mean).

What a great track! I love finding music that is not mainstream. Thanks for the choice – it’s a good one. 🙂

Okay, this can be a long shot unless you have a real good ear (and I think I do) but the song you posted sounds very similar to “Don’t Close Your Heart” by HIM in certain parts. You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3n-wm3NK3g
I listened to your song three times and kept saying, “What does this remind me of? Then bingo!”
Happy New Year! 🙂
