Midweek Madness: Jape

I have a real treat for you this week. I featured these guys recently on Raving Reviews but I felt like giving them a second play. For those of you who missed the review and are unfamiliar with Jape I will give you a quick bio .

Jape are an Irish electro-rock band headed up by Richie Egan of The Redneck Manifesto.  They formed in 2003 and have released four albums, two of which have won the prestigious Choice Music Prize for best album. (For more info on the bands click the links)

Scorpio is taken form Jape’s newest album ‘Ocean of Frequency‘. The single was released on the 9th of March and despite not going down too well in the charts it is still a great tune. It basically incorporates the catchy elements of pop music minus  all that annoying crap. Scorpio has been embedded in my head for the best part of last week. With its deep meaningful lyrics and well crafted harmonies it is a song that will stick with you (but not in an annoying way) Don’t just take my word for it. Listen below.
